I have had the pleasure of investigating many art materials and processes, as an artist and as an instructor. Initially studying classical realism at the Maryland Institute of Art, much of my work has been commissioned, for both private collections and commercial spaces, to include portraits and murals. The global community of mail artists introduced a more spontaneous and inclusive practice in mixed media and inspired me to create 2 international, internet driven collaborations exploring the concepts of the collective subconscience as influenced by pop culture, and building relationships through virtual introduction and gift giving. Having exhibited around the world, and currently working between Sussex, England, and Baltimore, MD, USA, my focus is on preserving and championing traditional materials and processes, presented in combination with technology and innovative ways of regarding art, to inspire change.
